Cookies & Local Storage

A practical explanation of browser storage and your choices.

Last updated:

How storage is used

Banamoji uses browser storage for practice and preferences, rather than an app-added analytics or advertising tracker. No optional analytics or advertising cookie switch is currently needed for app-added trackers because those trackers are not installed. Hosting, sign-in services and external retailers may use their own cookies under their own notices.

Local practice and backups

Browser storage holds profiles, typing progress, rewards and a recent local backup. A cached copy of published app settings helps practice start quickly.

Preferences and language

Browser storage remembers your appearance and language preferences. A language cookie carries your choice to server-rendered pages for up to one year and is renewed when the preference is applied. These entries are not used for advertising profiles.

Cloud synchronization

If you enable cloud saves, browser storage may hold a linked profile identifier, save revision, retry information and an unsent profile snapshot. These support reliable synchronization and are separate from your sign-in session. Stop syncing to disconnect this device; use Delete cloud save to remove the server copy.

Offline files and external services

A service worker can cache the app shell, stylesheet, scripts and icons for repeat visits and offline practice. It does not cache account or owner API responses. Remote product images and retailer websites use separate infrastructure. Following an affiliate link may allow the retailer or affiliate network to attribute a purchase using its own cookies or identifiers.

Your controls

Use Settings to change appearance, motion, sound, keyboard layout and other preferences. Use the header language selector to change language. Browser controls can block or clear cookies, local storage and offline files. Blocking storage can prevent progress saving or cloud recovery. Export important progress first. Clearing browser data does not itself delete a cloud account, and stopping cloud sync does not itself delete the server record.

Customer authentication

Clerk uses session cookies and related browser storage to keep you signed in, refresh sessions and protect sign-in from abuse. Banamoji stores a sign-in preference flag so authentication resources can load when needed. These are used for authentication, not advertising. Signing out ends the Clerk session but keeps local practice profiles; remove those separately on a shared device.

Operator & contact

Use the contact form to send a private enquiry. Account export and deletion controls are available in the app.
